Drovi: Industry Pilot Project Award 4.0. Overturned by the impulse of the factory of the future Galician
The automotive industry, the industrial lung of southern Galicia and the first Galician export sector, has turned to the concept of factory of the future. In a process of change towards digitalization, the work of both institutions and small and medium enterprises is essential to make a technological leap, train new staff involved in this new industry and promote different types of industry.
Drovi, aware of this, has proposed a project for the continuous improvement of the new warehouse processes focused on the improvement of the flows of materials and information. The project was set up with the objectives of raising awareness, supporting and promoting the transition from Galician automobiles to Industry 4.0.
The group and 8 other SMEs supported by CEAGA have won the first prize for Industry 4.0 projects for the second consecutive year. The program designed with these 9 SMEs covers up to fourteen technologies framed in the “factory of the future”, as each of the firms raises different investments to adapt to advanced manufacturing.
In total, the companies have proposed an investment of nearly 3 million euros, investing an average of 318,000 euros each.
Counting on the projects of the previous edition, there are already 20 examples in which the companies integrated in CEAGA can rely on and be inspired to direct their efforts towards the intelligent factory.
